Have an idea for a mod? Great! Starfield does not yet officially support mods, but thanks to the efforts of the community it's possible to make significant changes to the game.
If you have made mods for Starfield, please consider updating this page with the different types of mods that others can create. The current version is only a suggestion and might evolve.
Before you start modding Starfield there are a number of tools you may wish to install based on the type of mod you're trying to create.

1 2021 is not available to download on AutoDesk's website, however you can try asking customer support for a download link if you're a current license holder.

For the moment, we do not have details on the new to be released editor by Bethesda to use for mods. However, it might be a good reference to look at older games of Bethesda, developed in a similar engine. You may want to have a look at the CREATION KIT page, should you be interested in learning ahead of the official release, how their software usually was modded.
